Professor Huang Liusheng had worked in Anhui University after he graduated as Mathematics B.S. from Anhui University in January, 1982. And he has taught in USTC till now since June, 1988, when he graduated from University of Science and Technology of China with Master's degree of Computer Science. Professor Huang assumed the duties of Director of USTC Software Engineering Research Office and Director of Parallel and Distributed Computing Research Center. And his present status is Dean of the Department of Computer Science and Technology and Associate Director of the National High Performance Computing Center (Hefei). In 1997, Professor Huang was awarded as Trans-Century Excellent Young Talent of USTC. He has been in charge of or undertaken as primary member more than 10 projects of foundation research, key technology research and system research funded by "National 973 High Technology", "National 863 High Technology", "National Natural Science Foundation" and Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Research Interests
Distributed Algorithm, Parallel Distributed System, Information Security, Software Tool and Environment, KDD, Object-Oriented System Model and Design Method, OODM, etc.

Professional Award
Professor Huang has won First, Second and Third Class Award of Science and Technology Advancement by Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing City, and Second Class National Award of Science and Technology Advancement. He has also gained First Prize of Anhui Provincial Teaching Achievements and Second Prize of National Teaching Achievements. In recent years, 3 projects of 863 achievements leaded by him have passed provincial and ministerial accreditation. Some projects awarded are listed as following:
• Disaster Prevention and Reduction Intelligent Information and Decision Support System of Anhui Province, Second Class National Award of Science and Technology Advancement, 2001 (with the Second Place)
• Parallel Algorithm Teaching Base Construction, Second Prize of National Teaching Achievements, 2001 (with the Fifth Place)

Publications
Professor Huang's publications in recent years include: 6 books published by such publishing houses as Higher Education Press, University of Science and Technology of China Press and Taiwan Rulin Press; and more than 50 papers published in famous domestic and foreign journals such as ACM Computing Surveys, J. of Combinational Optimization and JCST.
